Mobile medical assistance is available to participants of the VIKING HEROES CHALLENGE at any time through MEDICAL CREW GbR for the duration of the event.  Our medical staff strives to provide prompt and professional first aid services and, if needed, paramedical assistance both on the course and in the start / finish area. Staff members include a diverse range of health care professionals from general care nurses, specialized nurses (anesthesiology / intensive care) to emergency physicians / orthopedic surgeons. Furthermore, some of our staff members are trained as S&R technicians and mountain rescue service crew.

MEDICAL CREW GbR maintains close contacts and collaborates with St. Wendel’s public health care facilities to be able to provide participants with seamless, fast and efficient access to appropriate medical care – when needed. MEDICAL CREW GbR personnel utilize a range of vehicles (MTB, ATV, 4×4, motorcycles) to arrive where needed in the shortest possible time. They are generally equipped to provide basic First Aid assistance but also paramedical services. MEDICAL CREW GbR maintains an operations command at all times to be able to attend to and coordinate multiple paramedic emergencies at any given time. As a result, a single Medical Care-Hotline (with call-back service) serves participants, race organizers, local health care service providers and the emergency dispatch center.
